| On August 2002, Rudy was in New York for his 15 day tour
in New York. One of the
events he sang for was Loving
Babylon, a Re-church Event, which focuses in maintaining a network
of supporting friendships among missional leaders committed to
transforming and shaping an emerging church. After singing for
this event in downtown Manhattan, Rudy left the church and looked for a
taxi to return home. As he was walking down the street looking for
change in his opened case, a common street person approached him and asked if he sold CDs.
Rudy answered "Yes." The man asked if he could purchase
one of Rudy´s CDs. Rudy never been in such a situation,
much less in downtown Manhattan, hesitated but soon was making a sale transaction. Soon another person approached
them and asked if he was selling CDs. Rudy said
"Of course". And was soon selling a second CD on the
streets of downtown Manhattan.
It is not ironic that Rudy had this experience after singing at the Loving Babylon event, but rather a confirmation that there are many people out there just waiting to listen to a word or song of hope spoken to them. If we do not take the initiative, they could come to us but we shouldn't wait on chances. We want to think that behind the walls of the Loving Babylon event, God's spirit was preparing the way so that someone would hear His Word in song. |
| In June of
2002, Rudy sang at the Florida Camp Meeting. Just as he was going up
to the stage, a pastor, approached him with a request for Rudy to do a
concert at the new church the pastor had been recently tranfered to.
Rudy agreed only to remember that he had recently been to that church
for a concert. What material would he present now?
Convinced that the Holy Spirit can give new meaning and experiences through music, Rudy confirmed the concert date for the next Friday evening. Several changes and some unique new features were added to the program to appeal to those who had heard him once before. One feature that was a hit was when Rudy gave the congregation the opportunity to request their favorite songs and then given were invited to sing-a-long with him. Others gave testimonies about how these songs had made a difference in their lives. A special part of the concert was when Rudy invited anyone to come and sing a song of their choice with him. A lady volunteered and chose to sing, God of the Impossible from Rudy's CD, Adonai. She told how she and her husband had lost all hope of having a baby. The doctors had told them that it would be impossible to bear any children and only a miracle would make it possible. They had begun to consider adopting. When she heard Rudy sing, God of the Impossible, the first time, the words of this song brought them new hope. After the concert, she would sing the song over and over again asking God to perform a miracle in their lives. But now, she stood to sing with Rudy, tears running down her cheeks, seven months pregnant. It was a blessed concert. It confirmed that just as God performed miracles for His children in the past, He will do them today. |
| Rudy is now a Morning song artist and has already participated in several events with singers like Steve Darmody, Jennifer LaMountain and Vonda Beerman. |

As a new artist with Morning Song, he has had the opportunity to film for Windows of Hope, a telecast produced by The Quiet Hour. |
